Care and Cleaning Instructions

Hug Rug Doormats are made using only top quality materials. They are easy to care for and our cotton Hug Rugs get more absorbent with every wash.

Please follow the instructions below when caring for your Hug Doormat.

Only wash the Hug Rug when necessary.

  • New Hug Rugs may shed excess cotton, this is normal and will stop once it has been brushed a few times or washed.
  • To save water – allow mud and dirt to dry and then simply brush it away.
  • To give the rug a longer life and better protect your washing machine from loose fibres place it in a cotton pillow case, machine wash on a quick cotton wash at 30ºC with drum at a low spin speed.
  • Remove any excess cotton, mud and any other debris before washing as best as possible by brushing/hoovering your Hug Rug. 
  • Excess cotton may arise in filter – so check filter on washing machine regularly.
  • Do not use biological washing detergent as this may fade the colour.
  • Do not use fabric conditioner as this will reduce the effect of its performance.
  • Flat, Aga rail or line dry naturally. Hug Rugs can be tumble dried on a cool setting for 10 minutes to plush the pile – this is optional.
  • Never place a Hug Rug on a damp floor.
  • Never place a Hug Rug in the tumble dryer on high heat setting for a long period of time.
  • If left in direct sunlight the colour will fade.
  • Leaving a steam cleaner on the Hug Rug for too long may cause the backing to crumple.
  • Spot wash for rugs that are too large to fit in the washing machine. 

Our mats and rugs are designed not to leave marks, however a combination of cleaning products, sunlight & heat may affect and/or cause discolouration to certain types of flooring when covered. We would advise you to please lift the mat frequently to allow the floor under the mat to be cleaned and aired. Our backing is a natural based product free, from vinyl & PVC. For specialist flooring please check with the manufacturer before using any rubber backed mats.

UK SHIPPING

We stock a selection of these doormats in our shop in Brighouse, West Yorkshire, where they are available for free collection. Online orders are shipped directly from our UK supplier, with delivery estimated at 5-7 working daysUK shipping cost: £3.95.

INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING

Unfortunately, we do not currently offer international shipping on these mats.

Returns and Exchanges

RETURNS:

For items other than those indicated below, if for any reason you are not completely satisfied with your online purchase and wish to return it for a refund, please ensure that the goods are returned in perfect saleable condition, in their original packaging, and with invoice as proof of purchase within 14 days of receipt to:  Bean and Bemble, 25 Archbell Avenue, Brighouse, West Yorkshire, HD6 3SU

Our returns policy lasts 14 days.  If 14 days have gone by since your purchase, unfortunately we can’t offer you a refund or exchange.

If a personalised print arrives with the wrong information where the customer has emailed the wrong details, we will re-print for 30% less than the original cost price.  If we have made a mistake with the spelling or details on the print, please let us know and we will re-print it for free.  If the item does not arrive, please let us know ASAP via the contact page or email.

Several types of goods are exempt from being returned:

NON-RETURNABLE ITEMS:

Products that have been “Handmade to Order” or "Printed to Order", unless faulty - if you are concerned about colour matching, please contact us to discuss this before placing your order and we can try arrange for a colour sample to be sent out.  We cannot guarantee products will look exactly as you see on screen due to colour calibration differences.

MOBILE PHONE CASES:

With so many models and sizes of phone cases on offer, we make each case to order and they are therefore not returnable unless faulty. Returns are not accepted if you’ve ordered the wrong size case. If you realise you’ve ordered the wrong size, please let us know and we'll do our best to help. If you’re unhappy with your phone case for any reason at all, please get in touch by emailing hello@beanandbemble.com.

To complete your return, we require a receipt or proof of purchase.  Please reply to your confirmation email letting us know what and why you would like to return a product(s) before sending it back.

There are certain situations where only partial refunds are granted (if applicable):

Any item not in its original condition, is damaged or missing parts for reasons not due to our error or our carriers error.

Any item that is returned more than 14 days after delivery

REFUNDS (If applicable):

Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned item. We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund.

If you are approved, then your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied to your credit card or original method of payment, within a certain amount of days.

LATE OR MISSING REFUNDS (If applicable):

If you haven’t received a refund yet, first please check your bank account again.

Next, please contact your bank or credit card company.  There is often some processing time before a refund is completed.

If you’ve done all of this and you still have not received your refund yet, please contact us at hello@beanandbemble.com and we will look into the issue.

FAULTY GOODS

We inspect all our products thoroughly before dispatch and have high quality control.  However, if you have received your order and an item is faulty or appears to have been damaged in transit, please contact us within 14 working days of receiving the item so we can arrange for a replacement.

EXCHANGES (If applicable):

We only replace items if they are defective or damaged. If you need to exchange it for the same item, please send us an email at hello@beanandbemble.com and we will exchange your item providing we have stock.

SHIPPING:

To return a product, please email us request our return address if you do not have it.

Unless defective, the buyer is responsible for paying for the shipping costs for returning the item.

Depending on where you live, the time it may take for your exchanged product to reach you may vary.

Please note that Bean and Bemble cannot assume any responsibility for return packages that are lost, stolen, or mishandled, so please ensure you choose a tracked and signed-for service to return your items and retain the tracking numbers for reference.
